A legendary textile, a Renaissance masterpiece, and a double anniversary spanning more than five centuries.
Created for the centenary of the Atelier Giuditta Brozzetti—one of the last places in Italy where the art of hand weaving is still practiced—this independent documentary follows an ambitious project: the reconstruction of the Perugian tablecloth depicted by Leonardo da Vinci in The Last Supper. More than 520 years after the creation of the fresco, and exactly 100 years after the founding of the Atelier, the master weavers of Perugia bring this historic textile back to life using 19th-century Jacquard looms, faithfully reproducing medieval and Renaissance decorative patterns.
Filmed without any institutional funding and produced outside traditional production systems, the documentary has since been awarded at several international festivals for its artistic and cultural contribution.
